The DNA Report Did Not Give Us a Cure. It Gave Us a Map.
This page explains how Oscar's molecular report shaped questions for my oncologist. It is not a dosing guide or treatment protocol.
When Oscar was diagnosed, the cancer felt like one thing: TCC. Bladder. Trigone. Maybe six months. Then the DNA report came back, and the cancer became more specific — not less serious, not less frightening, but more knowable.
Separately, a BRAF mutation test was positive in April 2025, prior to the oncology consult — supporting the urothelial/TCC picture before the full tumor DNA map arrived.
The tumor DNA test was a Vidium SearchLight DNA profile: Accession SL25-000232, received 05/05/25, reported 05/12/25. Site: trigonal urethral. Diagnosis on the report: urothelial carcinoma. Matching drugs listed on the report (including olaparib, platinum, trametinib, sirolimus, and others) were framed for us as a map for questions with my oncologist — not prescriptions to start on our own.
